An introduction

 

Wild Path One – an introduction is:

  • A 3 day 2 night wild camping excursion on Dartmoor
  • Either a stand alone excursion – or an introduction and starter to the Wild Path series

I am of course committed to provide good service, course and experience BUT you need the mentality that you are coming here to learn, grow as a man. To understand that things wont be handed to you, you will have to work hard in some ways to complete the weekend.

You are required to “show up” fully, you will get out what you put in!

Be tested against the changeable Moors and weather, learn new practical skills and personally develop.

Pre Agreements
  • you will follow my instruction at all times ESPECIALLY when concerning safety
  • you agree to handover phones and other tech before course starts (to be returned on completion)
  • bear in mind there are criteria for you to meet if you want to carry on with the program after this course. You will be being assessed.

Who are YOU?
  • 18 + 25-35 tends to be the core bracket, but we certainly have younger and older than that.
  • physically able (hiking carry 20kg bergen/backpack)

  • wanting closer relationship with self, nature, other men/brotherhood

Preperation

What you need to be MENTALLY PREPARED

Kit list:

Wearing on person:

  • Good footwear – boots, ANKLE SUPPORT
  • Walking socks
  • cycling shorts (underwear)
  • Combat/ walking trousers
  • (long-sleeve) base layer top (training top/under armour/running top = easy drying material, breathable)
  • Waterproof/gortex jacket
  • Hiking hat/beanie/cap

In Bergen:

  • Spare trousers
  • spare base layer/t-shirt
  • warm top (prefferably warm when wet – but not essential)
  • a spare set of socks and underwear x1
  • ***flip flops / small trainers – non essential*** dry and small packing footwear for around the fire at night
  • warm hat
  • small towel
  • plastic spoon/wooden spoon/fork

Equipment in pockets:

  • Head-torch – RED FILTER
  • 2x lighter
  • *** nice to have*** Gloves
  • compass (degrees)

Gucci kit:

Will consider Lightweight waterproof trousers, anything else – ask :)

If you can keep colours as neutral as possible that’d be great – however if all you have and can afford is the pink waterproof – so be it :)
